3D METAL LOGOS & SIGNAGE

Producing your company logo or branding as a 3D metal logo has many benefits ranging from it being long lasting and durable, to being able to produce the design in all types of colours and metal finishes which is often difficult to achieve using other materials.

The metal used to create the logo can be manipulated in many ways and fabricated together to produce wonderful designs which is why it's one of the most commonly used materials used by sign makers to produce three-dimensional logos.

Metals such as stainless steel is used for signage as it’s produced in a vast range of colours and finishes. The most commonly used stainless steel is the 304 grade (silver) stainless steel which is produced with a brushed satin finish as well as a mirror polished chrome finish. The stainless steel also comes in a range of coloured metals such as gold, bronze and rose gold which is great for creating durable signage which doesn’t tarnish compared to traditional metals such as bronze or copper.

3D Chrome Logo

3D Polished Chrome Stainless Steel Logos

A popular choice of logo signage for many businesses is the mirror polished 3D stainless steel logos, also referred to as 3D chrome logos as the surface is polished to a superb mirror-like finish which not only looks amazing, but it’s also relatively easy to maintain.

The logos are laser-cut by machine to the outline of the letters or design which make up the logo before being constructed by hand and fabricated together to achieve the desired depth of the logo which typically ranges from approx 30mm – 100mm deep.

Each section / letter in the logo has its own wall mounting bracket so it can be mounted to the wall individually. The fixings used are quite discrete and not visible from the front of the sign, and allow the logo to be raised off the wall slightly by approx 10 - 15mm.

The raised wall fixings allow the letters to be removed from the surface they're mounted to should you wish to relocate the logo or repaint the wall.

Flush wall fixings can also be used for this style of signage.

The brushed 3D stainless steel logos are equally as popular as the 3D chrome logos and produced in exactly the same way but by using a stainless steel which has a brushed hairline finish which produces a nice satin finish.

All logos are laser-cut by machine to the outline of the design before being fabricated together by hand to create the desired depth of the logo which typically ranges from approx 30mm – 100mm deep.

Each section in the logo has its own wall mounting bracket so it can be mounted to the wall separately. The fixings used are quite discrete and not visible from the front of the sign, allowing the logo to be raised off the wall slightly by approx. 10 - 15mm.

The raised wall fixings can be removed from the surface they're mounted to should you wish to relocate the logo or repaint the wall.

Flush wall fixings can also be used for this style of signage.

Flat Cut Mirror Polished Stainless Steel Logos

The flat cut polished stainless steel logos are a more cost effective way of producing a slightly raised metal logo compared to the 3D metal logos which are handmade, and they are widely used throughout many businesses as a means of corporate signage as they still create the desired effect but at a fraction of the cost.

Each logo is laser cut from a flat sheet of 304 grade mirror polished stainless steel in the following thicknesses:

  • 0.9mm
  • 2mm
  • 3mm

The logo can then the mounted either flush to the wall with double-sided tape (depending on the texture of the wall) or it can be mounted on raised wall fixings so that the logo stands proud off the wall by approx 10mm.

3D Painted Metal Logos

Painted 3D metal logos are produced like all three-dimensional metal letters by laser cutting the logo from a flat sheet of metal and then fabricating sections onto the side of the logo to create the desired depth of the logo. The depth / thickness of the logo usually ranges from 20mm - 100mm, however deeper logos can be created depending on the overall size of the logo.

The logo is then powder-coated or wet-spray-painted in the desired pantone or RAL colour of choice, with the option of having a glossy or matt paint finish.

Each logo is usually laser cut from a flat sheet of steel or aluminium in the following thicknesses:

  • 2mm
  • 3mm
  • 6mm

The logo is then powder-coated or wet-spray-painted in the desired pantone or RAL colour of choice, with the option of having a glossy or matt paint finish. 3D Illuminated Metal Logos

Adding illumination to a 3D metal logo is a great way of making the brand name stand out and turns the logo into a feature wall within the office or reception area.

The LED-illuminated metal logos are produced in the same way as the 3D metal logos, but with the addition of an LED lighting system installed inside each letter to produce a back-lit halo lighting effect.

Coloured LEDs can also be used to display a range of different coloured lighting effects.

The illuminated logos can be produced in a number of colour metal such as gold / silver stainless steel, as well as painted in your desired pantone or RAL colour choice. The LED lighting system is powered by the mains electricity via a transformer power supply unit.

Fixing your metal letters & logos

There are a number of ways in which the metal logo or lettering can be fixed into position. One of the most effective methods is by using a nut / bolt style screw fixing which allows you to discretely attach each section of the logo to a wall. The fixings also ensures that the logo is raised off the wall slightly by approx. 1cm, and enables you to be able to remove the sign from the wall should you wish to relocate or repaint the wall at a later date.

There are also other methods in which the logo can be mounted to the wall should you require it to be permanently mounted or if you’d like the logo to be mounted flush without a gap behind it. A member of the team will be able to talk you through these options with you.

Built-Up 3D Raised Logos & Letters

Built up logos produce a three-dimensional representation of your sign and ensures the logo stands proud from the wall it’s mounted to. This style of 3D metal lettering is manufactured from a flat metal sheet and fabricated by hand to produce each unique letter.

The built up logos and letters consist of a "letter face" which is visible face-on at the front of the sign, and a "return side" which is the depth / side of the logo. This method gives the illusion that the letters are solid when in fact they're completely hollow which reduces the weight of the logo so they can be displayed and fixed to most solid walls.

The logo is fitted to the surface of the wall with a two-part nut and bolt fixing. The male part of the fixing is welded firmly onto the back of the logo. The female part of the fixing is then fitted onto the wall using a standard wall screw and rawl plug. Both male and female fixings then connect together securely with a spanner to ensure they're fixed firmly into position.

A paper-based fixing template is also used to get all the fixings are in the correct position as well as ensure the logo is correctly displayed on the wall

Flat Cut Raised Logos & Letters

Flat cut raised logos and letters are also designed to give a three-dimensional feel to your logo, however they’re not as chunky as the built up 3D logos. This type of metal lettering is also manufactured from a flat metal sheet but without the added depth of the side return.

The flat cut logos consist only of a "letter face" which is displayed on the front of the sign and no "return side". The advantages in using this method is it reduces the manufacturing cost and weight of the logo in comparison to the built-up 3D signs.

In the same way as the 3d logos, the flat cut logos are fitted to the surface of the wall with a two-part nut and bolt fixing. The male part of the fixing is welded onto the back of the logo and the female part of the fixing is fitted onto the wall using a standard wall screw and rawl plug. Both male and female fixings then connect together securely with a spanner to ensure they're fixed firmly into position.

A paper-based fixing template is also used to get all the fixings are in the correct position as well as ensure the logo is correctly displayed on the wall.
